Javan Vidal ruled out of Wrexham AFC clash with Altrincham

Gary Mills confirmed Javan Vidal is a definite absentee for Saturdays visit of Altrincham, but insists he has a number of other options to fill the right-back berth.

Vidal was forced off with a hamstring strain in last Saturdays 1-1 draw at Sincil Bank, and will definitely be missing the visit of the Robins, while Mills also confirmed Adriano Moke would be in contention for the match after returning to training on Friday after having an infected tooth removed earlier in the week.

The loss of Vidal is a blow as the right-back has played every minute of Wrexhams eight games so far, but Mills adds he does have other options.

Mark Carrington played at right-back for the reserves in midweek, while the boss also suggested Manny Smith could move out to the right with Blaine Hudson starting at centre-half.

I have got options there, we have got two or three options, said Mills. I think Jav might be back for Tuesday (at Gateshead), he is very, very close to being fit, but with hamstrings you have to be very careful.

The options are that Carra played there in the reserves the other day, Manny could step in there which would mean Blaine coming in at centre-half, I have got two or three options that I can use.

Another potential option would be to use forward Connor Jennings at right-back, something Mills eluded to in the immediate aftermath of the Sincil Bank stalemate.

Jennings played at left-back in pre-season at Gresford Athletic, and Mills was genuine in adding it was another option open to him.

Mills added: Seriously, he (Jennings) is a good player and good players can play anywhere, and that is why I feel he could fill in there.

I know we have had a joke about it this week between us but if I said to him tomorrow there you go, that is where you are playing I know what I would get from him.

He would be another option for me, but I dont think he has slept two or three nights thinking about that, but youll have to wait and see what I decide on.
